Pure, Strong Color Sapphire Do you want a round sapphire for your Jyotish prescription? Shape isn't important to the effectiveness of a Jyotish gem but if your personal preference is for a round sapphire, this is the one! This gem has the important factors for bringing beneficial planetary influence: finest clarity and deep, rich color. It's unusual to find round shape sapphires because the "rough", uncut crystals, as they come from the mines, rarely yield this shape. This scarcity makes round sapphires in this size and quality more expensive than comparable quality oval or cushion shape sapphires. Round shape sapphires are relatively rare so they're usually more expensive than comparable quality oval or cushion shape sapphires. If you really want a round sapphire, it may be worth it to you to pay a relatively high price for this gem but, from a Jyotish point of view, it's better to select a larger oval or cushion shape sapphire for the same cost. Large "Face-Up" Size! Its size and color are both good for Jyotish. Two small "fingerprint" type natural inclusions are visible from some angles---these inclusions reduce the cost considerably, making good value for a stone of this size. Even though these inclusions aren't visible in the photograph, they are large enough to significantly reduce this gem's value for Jyotish so this one wouldn't be my first choice.
