The perfect Jyotish pearl is round, smooth, white in color, free of blemish with good luster and is solid pearl material all the way through. Freshwater, tissue-nucleated pearls are solid pearl virtually all the way through, making them suitable for Jyotish pearl recommendations. Many tissue-nucleated pearls are produced but only a tiny fraction are round, white, smooth and free of blemish. Freshwater tissue-nucleated pearls are completely different from "bead-nucleated" pearls. Bead-nucleated pearls are cultured by the insertion of a large plastic, glass or shell bead into the oyster.. Bead-nucleated cultured pearls are not good for Jyotish because they have just a thin layer of pearl material surrounding the plastic, glass or shell bead. Every pearl on this site is a tissue-nucleated, freshwater pearl, suitable for Jyotish. |
