|
The perfect Jyotish pearl is round, smooth, white in color, free of blemish with good luster and is solid pearl material all the way through. Pearls that have been cultured by the insertion of a large bead into the oyster are unsuitable because they consist mainly of a plastic or shell bead. Freshwater, tissue-nucleated pearls are solid pearl virtually all the way through, making them ideal for use in Jyotish pearl recommendations. They are distinctly different from bead-nucleated cultured pearls that just have a very thin layer of pearl material surrounding a bead of foreign material. |
