Every gem on this site is free of enhancement and free of "fracture-filling". Fracture-filling is the process of injecting oil or resin into gemstone fractures. Large, eye-visible fractures are almost always found in emerald so most cutters and dealers fill the fractures with compounds that hide the fractures, making them difficult to see. The fractures are still there; they're just harder to find, even though they're easily seen by the unaided eye prior to filling and when the filling material comes out. Flawless Vedic tourmalines are more effective than imperfect primary gemstones.

Vedic Peridot

Peridots on this page are superior color and superior clarity. The peridots shown here are free of black inclusions, even when examined with a gemological microscope. Most peridots in the market have black inclusions that make them unsuitable for use in Jyotish. Most peridots in the market are not Vedic gems because they have too many inclusions. Occasionally, I find a few peridots that have excellent color and clarity--here they are! |
