Every gem on this site is free of enhancement and free of "fracture-filling". Fracture-filling is the process of injecting oil or resin into gemstone fractures. Large, eye-visible fractures are almost always found in emerald so most cutters and dealers fill the fractures with compounds that hide the fractures, making them difficult to see. The fractures are still there; they're just harder to find, even though they're easily seen by the unaided eye prior to filling and when the filling material comes out. Flawless Vedic tourmalines are more effective (and safer!) than imperfect primary gemstones.

Peridots on this page are superior color (strong color with no "olive" tint) and superior clarity (no black spots, even when examined with a gemological microscope) and are great value. (Most peridots in the market are not Vedic gems because they have too many inclusions.) Occasionally, I find a few peridots that have excellent color and clarity--here they are! |

There are no emeralds on this site because emeralds are almost always full of fractures that have been "filled" with compounds to disguise their imperfections. If you want an emerald, I advise talking to Ron Ringsrud. He's a very knowledgeable and reliable specialist in emeralds. If a Vedic emerald is available, he will find it for you.
